Peterborough-based company Olympus Automation Limited is fully committed to a responsible approach to environmental issues and has replaced its entire fleet of company cars with
petrol/electric-powered vehicles.

All ten cars have been replaced with the latest version of the hybrid Toyota Prius, accepted world-wide
as being one of the most environmentally efficient vehicles currently available, producing carbon emissions of just 89 grams per kilometre.

The new cars are just part of an ongoing programme at Olympus to continually measure and improve the impact that all company activities have on the environment.

Olympus Managing Director Harry Norman explains, “We recognise the importance of protecting the environment we live in and are committed to continually improving our sustainability. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint year on year, by introducing sustainable initiatives throughout the company.”

This is also true for the automation, process solutions and equipment that Olympus supplies to the food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. These are helping many manufacturers to reduce their impact on the environment and produce goods for shops and supermarkets that are safer, healthier and better value for money.
