› Olympus Automation has acquired the powder handling project division of Industrial
  
blower Services (IBS)
The managing directors agreed the acquisition on Friday 18/6/2010. The IBS project team will now take on the Olympus Automation name and continue to trade out of the East Bergholt offices. The combined business will allow Olympus Automation to offer turnkey wet and dry material handling solutions.

›  New team member

Wayne Johnson is joining Olympus Automation as a technical consultant in the End of Line team. Wayne has extensive manufacturing experience as a technical manager for both the supermarkets and manufacturers. He will be available to work with our clients to improve technical systems and ensure the smooth implementation of our systems.

›  Delegation to Africa
Olympus Automation has a delegation visiting Africa to help companies procure process systems and equipment in emerging markets.

›  Working with Sara Lee
We have been working with Sara Lee USA to improve the performance of a process freezer. Improvements have increased throughput and machine reliability to record levels.

›  Recruiting engineers
Despite the recession Olympus Automation are experiencing strong demand for services and are recruiting engineers in many disciplines. Harry Norman MD says, "During the recession we had long term commitments with our customers allowing us to preserve our skill base and recruit first rate engineers from our competition. Now things are picking up we are best placed to offer solutions".

›  Providing emergency cover
When a leading manufacturer had a catastrophic failure of a mixing control system they turned to Olympus Automation. "The original equipment manufacturer required a six week lead time to resolve our issue; Olympus Automation had us fully operational in six days. The combination of software and process knowledge in Olympus Automation made this possible".
